The theory has been created in parallel with a career as an engineer and bioinformatician. In 1997 I started to study Civil Engineer Physics, at Ghent University in Belgium. Given my broad interests I chose for a minor in biomedical engineering techniques, which I continued in a two-year master after master program. After that, in 2006, I did a PhD in applied Biology (in fact bioinformatics), followed by post-doctoral projects in Austria, Norway and the Netherlands. Since 2022, I work at Sciensano in Belgium.
I am interested in the Homeric Question since I was twelve (1992), after learning about a fringe theory on the location of Troy. I started to investigate the matter intensively since 2000.
